NWFMOA Awarded MOAA Grants

On April 15, 2021 we received notice from the MOAA Development Team office informing us that our Chapter has been awarded a MOAA Foundation Community Outreach Grant in the amount of $2,500 and a MOAA COVID Relief Grant in the amount of $1,250 for a combined total of $3,750 for 2021.  Both of these grants will be used to purchase Commissary gift cards to be distributed to young enlisted families in ranks E-4 and below. This is the fourth consecutive year that NWFMOA has received a MOAA Community Outreach Grant.  With our grant from last year we distributed 143 Commissary gift cards ($25 each) to needy airmen and soldier families in conjunction with the Eglin, Hurlburt and 7th Special Forces Group (A) First Sergeant organizations and the Hurlburt Airmen & Family Readiness Center.  Feedback we received was that these gift cards were sincerely appreciated by the young enlisted families who received them.  The total of $3,750 will allow the Chapter to again purchase 143 Commissary gift cards valued at $25 each.

This year In December 2022, we distributed 255 commissary gift cards valued at $6,375 to the First Sergeants Associations at Hurlburt Field, Eglin AFB, and the 7th Special Forces Group (A), and to the Military Family Readiness Centers at Hurlburt Field and Duke Field.

A "Thank You" from the Mental Health Association of Okaloosa/Walton Counties

Dave Parisot received the attached "Thank You" letter from the Mental Health Association of Okaloosa-Walton for our Chapter donations for this year's stand down.  There are actually two homeless stand downs in Okaloosa County this year with both serving veterans, so we donated half of our 'stuff' to MWFMOA and half to the AUSA group.
